XLG Fluorescent Sphalerite, Lollingite Crystals & Black Willemite, Ogensburg, NJ

Description

A large, heavy specimen of longwave fluorescent sphalerite in a matrix of black willemite with silver lollingite crystals and some calcite. Collected at the Sterling Hill Mine in Ogdensburg, NJ. The willemite is fluorescent green under shortwave UV. The sphalerite is fluorescent pink/orange under longwave UV and orange under shortwave UV. The calcite and lollingite are non-fluorescent. Photos 3 and 9 are under longwave UV. Photos 1,5,7 & 10 are under shortwave UV. Size: 7″ x 4″ x 2-1/2″. Weight is 5 lbs. 2 oz.
You must have either a 254nm shortwave UV lamp or a 365nm longwave UV lamp to properly view the fluorescent response of this specimen.
I always combine shipping whenever possible. I carefully pad and pack each item securely in a cardboard mailing box. I do not offer a gift box or gift wrapping.
