Description

Sodalite and Microline in nephiline-syenite matrix from an area near Beemerville, NJ.  The original site usually listed has been picked over…this material is from a more recently discovered site along a ridge of mostly nephiline-syenite also near Beemerville.  My trip there was in Jun, quite overgrown compared to New Mexico sites I am used to, as seen in the picture.
The sodalite is a traditional orange under longwave and the lighter blue is microline.  No phosphorescence.  Specimen collected by me.
Specimen measures 2.5x2x1 inches roughly
Photos 1-4 in natural light  and 365nm 3 watt LW flashlight with a Canon Rebel XSI SLR.
Photo 5 is with an Iphone 11S under shortwave. I hesitate to add this picture but wanted to at least acknowledge some activity under SW.  The colors in the picture are much more vibrant than they actually look.
The real look is the red/pink feldspar is much duller as is the orange.  Still nice but not near as nice as in the picture.  My SW is a UVP 18W 254nm.
